How come?

Tre said this to me this morning as we were playing with his rubber snake.

snake (aka- Tre), "Who do I live with?"

me, "You live with Tre at his house"

snake, "Why do I live with Tre?"

me, "Because he's your brother"

Tre (no snake anymore), "How come my brothers and sisters don't live with me yet?"

me, (A bit flabbergasted and not sure what to say, where do you start with a question like that?) "Well, because we have to save up some more money and turn in some more papers and wait some more."

Tre, "How much money mema?"

me, "A lot of money Tre, right now we need about $3,000 before we can do anything."

Tre, "How come?"

me, "I don't know Tre."

Tre, "Will we go pick up my brother and sister today or tomorrow or later?"

me, "It will be later Tre."

Tre, "I'm sad. I want my brother and sister to live with us now."

me (tears welling), "Me too Tre, me too."

Waiting is hard, even for Tre.
